Temporary Employment-Based Immigration Paralegal
(Remote, Potential for Permanent Hire)

Location: Remote (U.S.-based)

Duration: Temporary position from April 2026 through June 2026

Hours: Guaranteed minimum of 20 hours per week, with the expectation of up to 40 hours per week during H-1B cap season or other busy periods. Hours may fluctuate based on case volume, but availability within 20–40 hours per week is essential.

This role does not require a fixed daily schedule. However, chosen available hours must be during Firm’s normal operating hours (8:30 am – 5:00 pm Eastern, Monday – Friday) in order to communicate and coordinate with team members.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced temporary employment-based immigration paralegal who can support our attorneys during a defined coverage period, with the possibility of permanent hire after approximately 180 days based on performance and firm needs. This role is ideal for a seasoned paralegal who is comfortable working independently and can “hit the ground running.” The hours will vary depending on caseload and firm needs, within the stated range of 20 to 40 hours per week.

This role is fully remote, but strong communication and reliable availability during agreed-upon daily time periods is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Employment-Based Responsibilities (Approximately 80%)

Prepare and assemble employment-based immigration petitions and applications, including:

  • H-1B and other nonimmigrant visa petitions• PERM (audit response experience preferred)
  • I-140 (EB-2/EB-3)• Employment-based Adjustment of Status (I-485)
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely production of all forms and supporting documentation.
  • Manage document collection and communicate with clients proactively, clearly, and professionally.
  • Maintain and update digital case files within the firm’s established systems and workflows.• Collaborate with attorneys and team members to keep cases on track and meet deadlines.

Family-Based Responsibilities (Approximately 20%)

Prepare and assemble family-based immigration filings, including:

  • Family-based Adjustment of Status (one-step filings welcomed)
  • I-751 Petitions to Remove Conditions
  • N-400 Naturalization applications
  • Assist with collecting documents, communicating with clients, and ensuring timely completion of family-based case materials.
  • Flag issues, inconsistencies, or missing information during case preparation and review.

Qualifications

Because this is a temporary role with an immediate need, we are not able to provide training. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on employment-based immigration paralegal experience.
  • Have direct experience with H-1B, PERM, I-140, and I-485 filings.
  • Have a working knowledge of family-based immigration matters, including adjustment of status, naturalization (N-400), removal of conditions (I-751), and related filings.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Be an excellent communicator, especially in a remote environment.
  • Be comfortable working independently and managing time efficiently across varying workloads.
  • Have proficiency with technology and case management systems (experience with INSZoom or similar systems preferred).
  • Have a positive, collaborative approach and alignment with our firm values of transparency, accountability, professionalism, and empathy.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly rate commensurate with experience.
  • Temporary position with the possibility of permanent hire after approximately 180 days, based on performance and firm needs.
  • No firm benefits are offered during the temporary period. If the role converts to a permanent position, eligibility for benefits will be governed by the firm’s standard policies at that time.
  • Hours will vary based on case volume and firm needs.
